The Las Vegas Scene
Some folks feel like a fish-out-of water and rather go home to Coos Bay.
What happens in Vegas, etc...
What happens in Vegas, does not necessarily stay in Vegas. At least not with this trip. There is
too much to share. Fortunately we, as a union, now have the tools. With these new tools we will
have to learn to utilize the JCIM and CBA to the full. I still feel very green with all this union mumbo-jumbo, but you got to start somewhere. Cheryl and I both took a class for (Small Office
Issues, Function-4 and Preserving Jobs Part 1 and 2, USPS Payroll Systems, Legal Rights and
Responsibilities, Discipline-Loretta, and The Art of Compromise-Cheryl) The class that was to be
presented Monday afternoon called; Role of the Steward in the Information Age, was canceled
because of Mr. Bill Clinton addressing our APWU All Craft Conference. But after classes, we
ventured out a bit. Hope I can download the pictures. Until next post!

Las Vegas All Craft Conference
We made it. So much information to share. This is an exciting and mind opening experience.
We got so much information the first day. I thought we could never properly share everything
that we learned. But we got a new tool for the Clerk Division, Maintenance Division,
Support Services and although this may not apply to our office, but Motor Vehicle Service Division. On Nov. 5th we were privledged to have our APWU President William Burris speak at our convention. He is excited about this conference and voiced his appreciation. Also we had Mr.
Bill Clinton address the APWU ALL-Craft Conference. What a great speaker. He was
encouraged by all the work the APWU has done in behalf of the hard working individuals
who have and who still fight for our legal rights to earn a descent living. We need to continue
to retain our jobs and support our families by using our National Agreement to the full. The
Sahara had been working on their internet system and I was unable to deliver any information
to you. But today it is up and I will post some photos of interest. Until the next post.
